The Innovation Centre
The Innovation Centre at Qatar Academy for Science and Technology is a state-of-the-art facility designed to cultivate creativity, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills. It provides specialized training in electronics, robotics, digital manufacturing, and entrepreneurship for students in Grades 9 to 12. Within our Pre-AP and AP Programs, students complete hands-on projects and lab work in the Innovation Centre, reinforcing their learning through real-world application.
The Innovation Centre is home to an extensive array of industry-grade equipment, allowing students to develop expertise in advanced manufacturing, digital fabrication, and engineering technologies. The Multicam APEX CNC Router and Boxford CNC Mill introduce students to precision machining and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM). Additionally, access to a laser cutter, metal-cutting band saw, lathe machines, drill presses, and plasma cutters allows students to gain experience in materials engineering, metal fabrication, and industrial design. These tools equip students with hands-on CAD (Computer-Aided Design) modeling, automation, robotics programming, and electronics skills.
Beyond the classroom, students participate in internships and field trips to leading research institutions and industry partners, gaining firsthand exposure to cutting-edge advancements in science and technology. The centre also fosters extracurricular engagement through competitions, QF-wide innovation events, after-school clubs, and collaborations with alumni, encouraging students to explore their interests and refine their skills.
To ensure a safe and professional learning environment, all staff members undergo comprehensive health and safety training, ensuring students can confidently and securely operate specialized machinery. With its world-class resources, strong industry partnerships, and future-focused curriculum, the Innovation Centre at Qatar Academy for Science and Technology is shaping the next generation of engineers, designers, and problem-solvers in Qatar.
