SUMMARY:At QAST we lead
DESCRIPTION:Doha Learning Days Event Summary \nGrade 8\, 9 and 10 students developed their own workshops for Doha Learning Days to lead a series of sessions to 1. Build shelters for survivors of natural disasters. 2. Explore water security and 3. Enhance understanding of germs and antibiotic resistance. These sessions gave our students the opportunity to develop their collaboration\, communication and leadership skills. They dealt with ambiguity and change caused by the weather\, which led to new opportunities to work with pupils from Awsaj pupils teaching how and why we build bunkers\, the importance of clean water\, what happens to wastewater and how we reduce our water consumption. \nSupporting others \nAs part of our students’ commitment to support others\, QAST volunteered for activities throughout Doha Learning Days and worked with external organisations to gain the skills needed to give back to our community. Including volunteering for blind football coaching\, supporting Go-Code programming sessions and Brain Education\, which was all about promoting positive attitudes and discovering inner confidence to enhance each others strengths. Thank you to everyone who worked with us as we took our learning beyond the classroom this week ahead of the 14th WISE Summit in Doha. \nSee the following links for further details: \nWhy learning about engineering is never a bridge too far\nInspirational students help to make football accessible for all
